8. 12/27/2008 7:16:00 AMI'd love to see a serious Product Development event. One where we bring in UI people, product development managers, high-level technology folks, and marketing people to discuss the product development life cycle.
9. 12/29/2008 3:42:00 AMStartup workshops Teaching various programming languages to others
10. 12/30/2008 6:11:00 PMmultitouchCamp (think Jeff Han) , another matchupCamp, BrainDay (Tech/Exercises for hacking/improving your brain), whereCamp
11. 1/1/2009 8:46:00 PMRoundtable discussions are great vs. the "come to a bar" and hang out events that are out there. I think there are a lot of up and comers that need to be highlighted at these events. Perhaps an event around these people, similar to NY Tech Meetup but instead of pitching a product, have the chance to introduce yourself and what you're doing. (I'm thinking there are opps for people who run businesses but don't have tech products to display that should still be introduced to the community)
12. 1/1/2009 8:46:00 PMniche events
13. 1/2/2009 9:01:00 PMOutreach to he broader community!

19. 1/6/2009 3:47:00 AMlots of small, focused events, and teh occasional big mixer. NewTech is a better environment for the wide, shallow, meeting-of-the-tribes stuff every month. But NextNY should still do a few of those every month.
20. 1/6/2009 1:44:00 PMThe State of NYC Tech Community a conference
21. 1/6/2009 2:47:00 PMThere seems to be a lack of non-web non-advertising based startup folks involved in nextNY - or maybe they are just less vocal? Would like to see more sectors of tech (hardware, software, infrastructure) represented in events.

25. 1/10/2009 8:39:00 PMsomething on helping cut burn, save money, stay alive
26. 1/10/2009 9:40:00 PMAnother ShakeShack event in the spring. Unfortunately, I'm no longer located in NYC so difficult for me to make a lot of the events.
27. 1/11/2009 12:43:00 PMBusiness models; emerging applications; specific applications development; emerging platforms
28. 1/11/2009 5:39:00 PM1) I think in this economy can be a catalyst of productivity, never before seen. If an unconference like event can be setup to bring unemployed people together to work on ideas then magic may happen. 2)
29. 1/11/2009 6:31:00 PMA lot of what I look to the NextNY community for is advice on topics I haven't a clue about. As a founder, that tends to be legal/financial advice/referrals. I'd love to see some sort of meet and greet with specific counsel. For instance, a legal meetup that perhaps highlights a few different firms and what you should look for in a lawyer, followed by an open period in which entrepreneurs can meet different counsel and see if they might work together. Same could be done for angels, VC's, accountants, etc. Hopefully, some real partnerships would form.
30. 1/11/2009 7:54:00 PMSpecific niche events like mobile development.
31. 1/11/2009 8:41:00 PM?
32. 1/11/2009 11:40:00 PMCommunity support of the unemployed. Show New Yorkers who are out of work that NextNY is here to show people how to survive, find jobs, and maybe start businesses.
33. 1/12/2009 6:39:00 PMAnother BarCampNYC
34. 1/13/2009 6:26:00 AMA meet/greet

37. 1/26/2009 7:35:00 PMHow to survive the financial implosion.
38. 1/26/2009 9:02:00 PMMore education outreaches -- how to program for the iPhone for example.
39. 1/27/2009 5:00:00 PMHow to modify business plans to reflect the depression.
40. 1/28/2009 11:14:00 PMDon't have time to really think about it. But if I did, I could probably come up with some good responses.
41. 1/31/2009 1:40:00 AMwhatever you want to.
